1. Wich Micrososft operatingsystem can work with IEEE 1394?
You can use the operatingsystems from Microsoft windows 98 SE (Second edition), Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
2. Do I need special drivers for my JVC camcorder?
JVC camcorders work with the Microsoft integrated standard drivers. Therefor JVC does not provide special drivers for transfering video via the IEEE1394 connexion. Does your soft- hardware need special drivers for JVC camcorders, please address you to your soft- hardware dealer.
3. My camcorder is not recognised by my PC, wath do I do?

Windows XPThe driver for the 1394 DV-cart and the driver for the DV-camcorder are provided by Microsoft and can be found on the Windows-Installation-CD.
You need severall updates for Windows SE from Microsoft.
The updates are as follow
Microsoft DV Update ( Download under http://www.aist.com in Download, 243174up.exe )

Direct X 8.1 Update ( Download under http://www.microsoft.com, dx81eng.exe )
- Secondly
These updates are necessary so your camcorder can work correctly when connected to your DV capture cart.
For the correct installation of your camcorder, you need to connect the DV-cabel (VC-VDV206U) on your IEEE1394 capture cart and then put the camcorder in the operate play mode.
In the device manager (Start / Settings / Control Panel / System) you will find under the category "1394 Bus Controller" the device "Texas Instruments-", or "PCI- OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller".
In the categorie "Imaging devices" you will see the DV device as "Microsoft DV camera and VCR" The device must be turnd on.
According to the IEEE1394 cart / software, the Microsoft DV driver or the Texas Instruments driver is needed to work correctly with your JVC DV device.See the documentation of your IEEE1394 Hard- / Software.
Is the image incorrect as shown on the picture below then the wrong driver is installed.
Turn off the DV device.
Install the programm DVconnect330 ( Download under http://www.aist.com in download, DVConnect330.exe )
Restart your PC.
Turn the camcorder back on in the play mode and connect it with your DV cart.
The DV device will be recognised as a 1394 DV camcorder.
